Abstract

Probiotic are defined by WHO as life micro-organisms that confer health benifits to the host when consumed in adequite amounts. this aimed to assess the correlation between KAP regarding the use of probiotics for digestife health among medical students  at sebha Uni. Libya. A cross-sectional study was conducted from Febraury to May 2025 among 193 medical students. Most participents were aged 18-21 years (61.6 %) and were femal (83. 1 %). Pharmacy students constituted 43.3 % of the sample. Although the majority of students demonstrated positife attitude toward probiotics, knowledge gaps were efident, particularly eggarding probiotic species fariability and approperiate clinical use. Approximately one-third of participents incorrectly belifed probiotics could only be  used as diatary supplemets. Actual consumption and proactife informattion seeking behafiuors were low, indicating agap between positife attitude and practice. the finding highligths the need for targeted eductional interfention to improfe students knowledge, and promote efidence based use of probioticsin future clinical practice.
